What a coincidence; I just finished reading this book the other day. Brilliant book, and brilliant cover art. I especially like the design of Jhurpess (the baboon-looking one on the left) and Gork (the little lizard-guy in the forefront). Wish I could see Fazeill's face, but I suppose that's the point, isn't it? ;)

Wonderful job; I don't usually pay much attention to the cover art on most books, but I actually did look back fairly often to the cover on this one, especially for a reminder of the characters' size in relation to one another.

Thanks for the comment. This was a tough assignment. The author didn't have highly detailed descriptions of a lot of the characters and the samll detail and design for the characters in the painting was left to me. When reading you're mind usually fills in the gaps of what's not described, but in a painting, you have to hit every tiny detail. I'm glad you liked the cover!

Yeah, there really wasn't a whole lot of description given in the books. That's fine for a reader, but I imagine as an artist attempting to give a more thorough image of the characters it would make things rather difficult. Particularly in the case of the troll. That, and breaking from the traditional D&D-style imagery put forth by WotC was probably quite difficult.
